In the first 5 months of this year, Turkey's electric car sales increased by 257 percent. The country has sold 27,600 electric cars till May. Recently, this information is known from a report of the Turkish media Daily Sabah about the country's top automotive association. News Time News.

Sales of electric cars in Turkey have increased significantly. The sales rate in the first 5 months of the year exceeded 257.3 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. A total of 27,604 cars have been sold so far. Not only that, the market shares also increased by 7 percent.

Besides, the sales of all types of cars in the country increased by 6 percent in the first 5 months. So far 4 lakh 71 thousand 743 have been sold. However, compared to last year, the sales of diesel cars and LPG cars have decreased. Sales of diesel cars fell by 33.1 percent and LPG cars by 37 percent in the first 5 months of the year. The main reason for this is that the production of diesel cars has almost stopped worldwide and the new models are almost non-existent in the market. Therefore, the price of such car companies has decreased in the country's stock market.

On the other hand, 7,349 fully electric cars were sold in the country in May alone, which is 9.2 percent of the total car sales in the entire month. However, not only electric cars, but also the sales of various types of hybrid cars have increased greatly in the country. Between January and May alone, sales of all-electric vehicles rose from 2.3 percent to 7.4 percent. Whereas the sales rate of hybrid cars increased from 10.6 percent to 14.4 percent during this period.

In 2023, Türkiye surpassed many European countries by selling a total of 65,000 cars. The country placed sixth in the European sales ranking.
